General racing info

The Greater Chicago Soap Box Derby Association generally holds 3 - 4 races a year. This includes 2 - 3 rallys and a local, the rallys are held in early May, Sept. and Oct, an indoor rally in the winter months, and our local is held in June. Exact dates vary year to year. See below for this years dates and locations. Our dates are determined as early as the year before and as late as early spring. All races are sanctioned by the All-American Soap Box Derby.

Races are held in Naperville, unless noted, at the corner of Diehl and Frontenac Rd. Physical address is 1620 Frontenac Rd. Naperville, IL 60563

Contact us if you are interested in racing, we have several club cars that you can use if you do not have your own car. Racing is fun, exciting and a great family sport.

Sunday April 22 Rookie race Naperville, IL Rain date will be Sunday April 29

Sunday April 22 Local race fees are due. Must be paid in person at the Rookie race

May 5 & 6 AA 4 Point Race Naperville, IL. Rally Form Rally Flyer Concessions stand will be available for lunch

May 19 OTSC Clinic 4pm

May 25 Last day to register for the Local race Reg Form Racer Profile Form Mail both to GCSBD 1530 Fairway Circle, Geneva, IL. 60134

May 31 Thursday Local Inspection and Impound Super Stock cars 4pm - 8pm

June 1 Friday Local Inspection and Impound Stock and Masters cars 4pm - 8pm

June 2 2012 All American Local race Rain date June 3

July 16 - 21 75th running of the AASBD World Championship race

4 point AA rally race = 2 races each day, double elimination race followed be a single elimination race. Each racing family is asked to lift cars in the run out area for 1 hour or pay a $5 run out fee.
