Race day info
- No lubrication will be allowed indoors.
- All cars must meet their maximum total weight for their division.
- No cars will be allowed to race under the designated weight for their division.
- Max 15 lb. tail or nose weight.
- No skates, scooters, rollerblading, or skateboards will be allowed inside the mall.
- All cars will be required to have a new brake pad.
- Emergency contact number for race day is 630-841-8832
- Tools will only be allowed in the designated pit area.
- Any and all repairs MUST be done in the pit area with the approval of either a race steward or a race official.
- Once the car has been inspected and weighed, it is NOT to return to the pit area unless directed by a race steward, or only if, that car is no longer racing.
- Cars that ARE still racing must remain in pre-staging area while they continue to race.
- There are 3 restaurants located in the food court of the mall, 2 Chinese and a Steak and Potato place.
- No oil or lubrication will be allowed on Charlestowne Mall property.
- No photography allowed at the finish line.
- All cars will be required to adhere to current AA Soap Box Derby rules. All cars will be inspected.
- Please try and arrive on Friday to unload your derby car and equipment into the building. This will help to get things started on time on race day. We are there until 9pm.
- Please look over the race day schedule. Racing will start promptly at 8:30am and all cars are required to be in line to weigh by 7:30am each day.
- There is indoor plumbing no porta potties! Woo hoo!!
- Car handlers will be needed in the run out area.
- Friday car drop of is 3 - 9pm.

The winter rally dates will be Feb. 25 & 26, 2012 at Charlestown Mall, 3800 East Main St. in St Charles, IL. 60174. We again expect to have great food, a great time, a well run and organized race, and lots of warm derby racing indoors while it is freezing outside! You will not want to miss this exciting racing event. You must pre-register and have race fees paid by Feb. 23, 2012. Questions? - please email or call 630-841-8832.
Details: Two races will be held on Saturday
and two on Sunday, a double and a single. Friday is for people wanting
to arrive early to weigh-in and finalize their registration.

the first racer and $30 per race for the second racer and the third racer

Registration form. Please fill in 2 of the 3 blank rectangular squares to the left of the date box that is located in the top right hand corner. In the top box indicate your division, in the middle box indicate the total number of races you will be competing in for the weekend, and leave the bottom box blank, Next to the date box be sure and check the date for each day you are racing and check the appropriate box to indicate the type of race you are racing in. Use one row for each day that you are racing for a total of 4 rows, leave the bottom row blank. In the illustration below the driver is racing in the stock division and is racing in 4 races.
Location The Charlestowne Mall is located on the east side of St. Charles, IL. There is not to many stores in the mall but there is still plenty of shopping that can be done there. You can visit the mall web site for a listing of stores. There are 3 restaurants inside the mall that include Great Steak and Potato, Chinese, and Japanese. There is also a huge variety of places to eat outside of the mall McDonalds is just outside the mall and Portillo's is just down the street, Walmart is next door.
Directions. St. Charles is 20 minutes north of our track in Naperville. Coming off of I-88 you can exit at Farnsworth Rd (aka Kirk Road) and travel north. Take that all the way to Rte 64 (North Ave), turn right and the Mall is the 1st light on the left, follow that around to the north. If you are coming from the north or northwest you can exit off of I-90 at either Rte. 59 or Randall road. If you take Rte 59 follow that to Rte 64 (North Ave) and head west, once you see McDonalds on the right, turn right at that light and then left into the east entrance to the mall. From Randall road follow that to Rte. 64 (North Ave) and head east, go through St Charles, once you pass Kirk road the mall is on your left.
Loading There are 2 places to unload at. See the aerial photo for locations of door A, B, and C. Door A is the best place to unload at. The door will be labeled "Service Door Entrance # 1". You can back your trailer into the entrance way, if you have only a vehicle you can pull in and turn around in that area. I will have someone there to open the door for you and help you unload. If you have a rack that holds all your cars on you will not be able to wheel it through the hallway, you will need to use Door B. Door B is the main entrance to the mall on the north side. There is a Kohl's on the left and a movie theater on your right. Not the best place to unload at since you will have a longer distance to carry everything. Easier if you prefer to avoid backing your trailer into a tight area. Once you are inside the mall head straight into the middle of the mall and then go to the right. When you are at Doors A and B of the mall you enter onto the bottom floor, which is where the track will be at. If you come in at the south entrance of the mall , Door C, you will enter into the upper lever of the mall, I don't recommend bringing your car down the escalator. Hotels There are 5 hotels that are less than a 5 minute drive from the track and more another 5 - 10 minutes away. The Country Inn and Suites is across the street from the mall making it the closest. St Charles is a small town with Rte 64 running through the middle of it, taking less than 10 minutes to drive from one side of town to the other. Geneva is the next town to the south followed by Batavia, all 3 towns are right next to each other.

Rooms are $75 per night, 2 queen beds, and includes breakfast. Call them directly and mention Soap Box Derby.
